The Paper Plus students have been testing the Ashburton River water at different sites and are about to test it again at the town site.  During this time, we have also been discussing why there are changes to: the invertebrae population, algae growth, temperature and clarity at each site.  Today, we completed some activities to build our awareness of the many different uses of rivers and how different community members might view our river.

The Paper Plus students were bursting with news today as it was the first day of the term.  We were given a card and had to find others with the same card that belonged to our news sharing group.  The card also told us what our responsibility was within the group.  Everybody had plenty to say.

Today, the Room 16 class took some time to think about why we treasure each other.  We took turns writing something special about others in the class.  At the end, we could could read our piece of paper and all the lovely comments written that describe us.
